Chargers 0-1
Friday, September 23 2005

Football
Ok I have gotten a request to write more about football and less about being drunk. I haven't been drinking lately so it's makes sense.
My Chargers are 0-2. The first game against Dallas was an offensive disaster. The Cowboys blitzed 3 out of every 4 plays. They had no regard at all for our passing game. Antonio Gates would have been helpful cause they would have had to have Roy Williams cover him instead of blitz right at Drew Brees.

Jerry Rice
Tuesday, September 06 2005

Football
303 games played, 284 games started, 1549 receptions, 22895 yards receiving, 14.8 average yards per catch. He once caught a 96 yard pass, had 197 touchdown receptions, 645 rushing yards in 87 attempts, 10 rushing touchdowns, and holds 38 NFL records over 20 seasons. Out of all that he only fumbled the ball 27 times, 10 of which he recovered himself and only causing two turnovers. He even threw the ball for a 41 yard touch down in 1995.

Jerry Rice is the best that ever played the game. I cried watching him announce his retirement. I remember when he entered the league, I can hardly remember football without him.

Good luck to him in whatever he tries, I am sure he will be the best at it.

Jeff Blake is now the hope of the bears. Gotta feel bad for Rex Grossman two seasons in a row he is out due to injuries.

Chargers training camp has started
Saturday, July 30 2005

Football
The season is finally upon us. I am getting really excited. On Tuesday before the Chargers practice there will be an autograph session. I will be there with a huge shit eating grin on my face. I love football. The Chargers have signed all but two of their major contract disputes. Rookie Shawne Merriman is still not anywhere to be seen. I have read a lot about Merriman lately and I understand why he wants a huge payday. He grew up in a real bad place, worked his ass off to be the best football player he could be (here is a good article about him), off the field he single handedly put the first man on the moon, and he invented the fork and indoor plumbing (see that is why blogging isn't journalism which he invented as well; I can say what ever I want here). Well he didn't really do those last three but read that article to see what he has done, we do need him in camp, and he deserves to make good money. Sign him already, the difference a few hundred thousand dollars means to the team vs a player of his potential says to me "fuck just sign him already!". We NEED more pass rushing!   read more (380 words)

I can't wait for football season to start
Sunday, June 19 2005

Football
God I can't wait for football season to start up. My San Diego Chargers are looking pretty strong in the off season. The addition of Vincent Jackson to our receiving core seems like just the right move. This kid can play, and he is huge. I was concerned with defensive tackle Luis Castillo (or "steroid boy" as he is affectionately known as), but after reading up on him, he seems like a good guy who made one mistake. I really hope the back office gets real and signs some of these other guys (Antonio Gates, and Shawne Merriman). Unlike Merriman, Gates is the man for showing up to every practice without a contract. He might lose a bit of a bargaining chip by not holding out but what he gains in respect from both the fans and the coaching staff is awesome.   read more (260 words)
